On Wednesday evening I had the privilege of co-hosting a shopping night, which we called "Fashion with a Mission"! It was all about making purchases that do good in the world. I thought it would be fun to share some pictures from the event with you guys. If I could, I would have invited every single one of you! That's my goal for the future.
It was at my friend Caroline's B.E.A.utiful home! Seriously, beautiful - if you'd like to see more of her home click (here). It was featured in Southern Living, but she would never tell you that. I was so thankful when she offered to have it at her house, I felt like jumping up and down! I wasn't quite sure how I would fit all of our guests in my house. Here's our spread. The Junior League of Houston sure does make some delicious food! The cookies were TDF.
It's no secret that I absolutely love Ole' San Miguel, A.K.A. The Mexican Shirt Place! I've worn their shirts over and over again on the blog and every time I do I get lots of questions on how to purchase. Karen and her husband live in Mexico and work with women from 8 different Mayan villages. These women make these beautiful shirts and Clint and Karen sell them in Round Top, TX, in a tent at Arbor Antiques. The proceeds from the night went to Casa Hogar Canaan Orphanage. The work they are doing in Mexico is amazing and I was honored to have a little part in their very big mission.
Here's a picture of the Roma boots display. From their website, "Roma boots is a 'buy one give one' fashionable rain boot company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It was founded in 2010 by Romanian born Samuel Bistrian, who wanted to help children in his home country by combining his love of fashion and charity."
Here are the little kids rain boots. Adorable! I bought a red and yellow (not pictured) pair for my boys. With the boots purchased that night, Samuel was able to give 28 children a pair of boots!
Courtney and I with Samuel, the founder and brain behind Roma Boots. The nicest person you will ever meet. Such a sweet, unassuming soul.
Courtney is a dear friend of mine and a Noonday Collection Ambassador. Here we are all decked out in Noonday jewelry. When you purchase Noonday jewelry "it offers hope to artisans by providing a living wage and an opportunity for them to have a pathway out of poverty." And yes, I did a wardrobe change!
Here's Courtney's display. If you'd like to see more of the amazing Noonday Collection click and shop here.
Party Pic: Here I am with my sister AKA (tellittoyourneighbor) and our good childhood friend. It was such a fun and special evening for me. Doing good always feels good. Thanks for letting me share.
